Traci Hays developed her directing sensibility under the mentorship of Randal Kleiser (Grease), John Badham (Saturday Night Fever), Martha Coolidge (Real Genius), and Lawrence Paull (Back to the Future).

During her education at the Dodge College of Film & Media Arts at Chapman University, Traci was awarded an apprenticeship with Hollywood director, Randal Kleiser, through Dodge College’s selective and competitive Filmmaker-In-Residence mentorship program.

After graduating, she went on to Production Design various feature films, commercials, and music videos. Some of her past clients include: Universal, Blackpills, Podium Pictures, Dark Web Series, VaynerMedia, MarVista Entertainment, Fullscreen Media, and Lone Suspect.

Traci directed the short film, Lions Among Men, staring Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger GamesTerminator Genisys) and Johanna Watts which was nominated for the Student DGA Film Awards. In a review by Picktainment, they said “Hays makes a point of maximizing the truncated length, igniting each scene with sever importance. No moment seems like excess, no words unnecessary.”

She went on to direct other projects, most recently the short film, Frederick, staring James Morrison (24) and Josh Mann. Traci was awarded Best Director by the LA Film Awards and won Best Picture at the New York Film Awards.
